- Hello, my name is Victor Pratt I am 37 year old and I am a pit master. For those of you who do not know or understand what a pit master is I will help you. A Pit Master is an individual who studies and understand the art and science of barbecue. I have been studying the art and science of barbecue from the age of 19. I have learned through trial and error, that there are many challenges to over come when reaching the goal of Pit Master. This was not an easy process, but it is very achievable if you learn from your mistakes.
